Summer Festival

The South Tyneside Summer Festival is now in full swing, today the Mouth of the Tyne Festival started with a dancing, musical, street art, type of parade along the promenade from Gypsies Green Stadium to the South Marine Park. The events today include live music in both the Bents Park and the South Marine Park where there is also a circus big top tent. This afternoon the crowds flocked to both parks and the venues were packed, the sun shone and it was very warm, I have never experienced such a turn out in the parks in all of my life. This evening another special event takes place at 9.30 p.m. when a spectacular parade of giant ginger giraffes will take over the Sea Front, I’ll post some pictures just as soon as I have them available and video will follow in a few days.

It’s great to see so many visitors in “Sunny Shields” it’s just what this town needs and gives us the opportunity to show everything that we are good at. For those visiting from my main website here’s a short video of last Sunday’s event in the Bents Park, South Shields.

Please give the video time to load (Sorry about the sound, it was windy)
