Interested in local music?

You could star in a film!

If you have had any sort of involvement in the local music scene between 1967 and today, I have news for you, there is a chance you could get involved in a documentary DVD. The Corner Shop has just received this email from Gary Wilkinson;

“Hi all

My name is Gary Wilkinson and I`m a film maker based in South Tyneside.
I run a small business producing video/dvd for the educational/social/environmental sector.

I am busy researching/making contacts and filming musicians, roadies, fans, photographers anybody who was involved in local music in South Tyneside from
1967-2007.

The project aims to capture the spirit of those times and let an audience re-live the memories from then by asking musicians/roadies to tell stories from that time. The project will be mastered onto DVD.

I am wondering whether you or any of your members from South Tyneside might be interested in contributing to the documentary.

I will be more than happy to talk to you about the project and answer any questions, as I realise there is only so much that you can say in email.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers
Gary”

  1. I would hope some mention is made of Music Maker, which sadly closed late last year/early this, after being one of the few music shops near the town centre. The old gent who ran the place will certainly be missed.
