“Shifty” Lib-Dems
Is this a very “moving” picture?
I have just heard a very interesting story from one of my customers, which really leaves me asking questions of everyone who calls in here.
Does Hebburn North Lib-Dem councillor Joe Abbott have anything of interest to share with us today?
We do like a bit of juicy gossip every now and then.
We even have a penchant for a “moving” drama!
So long as it doesn’t end in tears.
Rumour has it that Joe is thinking of crossing the floor! Apparently this kind of behaviour is catching in Hebburn, it must be something in the water!
Let’s hope he comes clean BEFORE the election so that unlike last time, people in Hebburn know what they are voting for BEFORE casting their vote!

Curly this cant be true can it? Because Not so long ago another Cllr done the same thing in Hebburn South. I hope Cllr Abbott has the guts to tell the People who have voted for him in the past.

Apparently it seems the leak comes from the very top of the labour party, the question is which one Jarrow or Shields! If it is true the Lib Dems might have to sent for ‘Spartacus’.

Other “informed” sources this evening suggest that Joe is staying put, not moving anywhere! This normally reliable source was from within the ruling group. Joe is staying silent, nothing new there!

Curly I`ve just been told that Cllr. Abbott would have been screaming from the rooftops if this rumour was untrue, and I got this from a very reliable source who knows him very well. The source said the one thing Cllr. Abbott dislikes is personal attacks towards him. So if this was UNTRUE he would have hit back at the rumour straight away.

Curly your saying, A source from the Lib Dems are saying that Cllr Abbott is Staying put. Surely they would be the last people to know if Cllr Abbott was going to walk the floor?

Mind, if Joe Abbott was really keen on stopping or refuting rumours, he could have helped himself a great deal by telephoning me, or even answering some the emails that I send him!

According to today’s Gazette Cllr Joe Abbott (Lib Dem councillor for Hebburn North), has strongly refuted any suggestion that he intends to defect to Labour and has laughed off suggestions that he is about to cross the floor of the council chamber.
Fairplay Cllr Abbott for coming clean and setting the record straight and I’m sure the rumour mill will head off in another direction, in fact according to a post from Westy late last night I’m going to be the next labour candidate in Beacon and Bents in two years time, I’m not sure how John and Fay feel about it though!
Well Joe I have to agree with you such rumours are laughable, I mean there’s more chance of Osama Bin Laden popping into the Iona Club for a pint than there is of me joining labour!
