The world is about to end by global warming!
Oh no it isn’t
The planet is actually getting colder, much colder, (even if we haven’t noticed in South Shields) all in the course of one year, yet incredibly the press in the west appears not to be reporting matters. The merchants of doom and gloom have suddenly gone quiet as the northern hemisphere ices over, the learned people and scientists have all lost their voices. The truth of the matter is they will all start to lose their government grants and the jobs that go with them if anthropogenic global warming is seen to be false.
Now and then amidst the gloomy silence a small voice sounds out, one that is not afraid to challenge the accepted norms of the new religio-political greenscape. That voice this week belongs to Mellanie Philips writing in The Spectator, I beg you to take the time to read her full article.
Apart from a couple of lonely newspaper pieces, virtually none of this dramatic news has been reported. The world has no idea that it is no longer doomed to fry but maybe should invest instead in some thermals and start emitting more heat. The Chief Scientist has not said anything about it. The Royal Society has not said anything about it. Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth and Sir John Houghton and Sir Jonathan Porritt and the Today programme have not been heard to say anything about it.
I wonder why?
I’ve read her article – it’s nonsense. One for the tin foil hat brigade.

The establishment are keeping quiet because Melanie Phillips is a loony. Nobody comments when David Irving claims to have proof the Holocaust never happened either.

The “brave” Mrs Phillips also believes that MMR causes autism, that Saddam had WMD all the time, that the British churches are preparing for a second Holocaust and that evolution is “just a theory”?
Or: “Individual Palestinians may deserve compassion but their cause amounts to Holocaust denial as a national project.”

You cannot be serious! I wonder why she fails to mention that 2007 and 2005 were the warmest years since records began and that 8 of the warmest years since records began have been sinc 1998? I’m glad she talks about global warming or I’d have thought she was still a member of the flat earth society.
