Barred (update)
Campaign to bar Darling gains momentum
You may remember that I invited readers to help themselves to a copy of this poster to display in their local pub or club, either at the bar, on a notice board, or in a window. The poster is designed as an expression of disgust and disdain at Labour Chancellor Alistair Darling’s decision to swipe millions of more pounds of taxes at the expense of ordinary social drinkers. It seems since I first bumped into the campaign at the Devil’s Kitchen it has taken off, gone viral!
Even the BBC are giving this blogging campaign a mention

and David Cameron even brought the matter up at Prime Minister’s Questions today. I think the landlord of The Utopia deserves a medal for thinking up the idea in the first place, you can hear a radio report on this piece ove at Matt Wardman’s place.
If you plan to print out any copies to display in your favourite pub in South Shields, do let me know via the contact page, I think a few photographs might just encourage some others to follow suit.

[...] you would like a poster for your own pub or club in South Tyneside, go to this post to download and print one; and if you would like to feature in The Corner Shop send me an email (see the Contact page) [...]

Why just Alistair Darling? If every pub barring Darling had posters barring local Labour politucians as well it would certainly put the pressure on Darling from them as they get criticised locally for supporting this.
Believe me. There’s one thing that will make politicians put pressure on their bosses. It’s local criticism of themselves and the threat of losing their seats.
