MPs expenses
Labour wants them audited, the Tories want them virtually scrapped.
We’ve heard so much in recent months about the so called “John Lewis List” whereby MPs have been decorating and furnishing their second homes in London with our cash, well now moves are planned to amend the current expenses system. David Cameron’s Conservatives want the expenses to cover nothing more than mortgage payments, council tax, and utility bills, whilst Labour wants to keep the goodies, so long as they are audited by an “independent body”, the National Audit Office.
