DNA for sale

with one comment

Secret sales of DNA

Don’t worry if your DNA has been stored on the national database, despite the fact that you are innocent, have never been charged, nor found guilty of a crime. Don’t worry that you are still at school and don’t fully understand what your personal privacy is all about. Don’t worry that you happen to be a young black man and that it is more likely that your DNA will be recorded by the police than mine.

Because when it all goes wrong and the government is forced to compensate you they’ll just dip into the cash they are making from selling your profile!

This really must stop and stop now!

  1. This is a predictable enough extension of the idea of selling electoral registers to marketing firms and others, which was started under the Conservatives. In this arena neither major Party has behaved well; and — despite the “restricted register” which, to their credit, Labour introduced — it is still something I do not believe can ever be justified. It doesn’t even bring in significant revenue…
