Palin was actually ‘pardoning’ a turkey (saving it from the Thanksgiving dinner table) whilst the camera followed the turkey slaughter going on behind her. I doubt whether a British politician would allow themselves to be seen in this situation.

I would hope most politicians anywhere would allow this type of thing to go on. Not because we don’t eat turkey, but because if wanted to see animals being slaughtered we wouldn’t be turning into the political news…
