Think of someone else this Christmas
Forget your Christmas dinner thoughts, forget the wrapping paper, forget the toys and gadgets, forget the booze and falling asleep on the settee, instead think of someone else this Christmas. Along with the millions of homeless, the poor, the starving, the diseased and dying, there are people out there who go without, without sleep, food, comforts, or warm thoughts of warm beds and family.
For every time that you moan and groan, whinge and twist, about the council in South Tyneside, the shops in South Shields, the crime in Horsley Hill or Biddick Hall, your taxes, allowances, and the cost of the weekly shopping, just stop and think of those who are working their socks off and risking their lives to give you the freedoms to voice your dissent. I say this with a lump in my throat seeing as all of them chose the job they now have, but none of them chose to be where they are – our politicians did that for them, whether we agreed with the decision or not. They don’t complain, they just get on with it – for us.
