Slow progress
Circatex site cleared and ready for building
It’s just over two years since South Tyneside Cllr. Eddie McAtominey declared that the former Circatex site at the rear of Frederick Street in South Shields would be made available for the building of new houses, and almost three years since I first blogged of the possibilities in 2006. The site is now cleared and ready for building upon.
It’s getting to be like that bar room joke about the grisly bear and the……………………….err…………….pint.
(Why the long paws?)
I often look at how long it takes things to happen in South Tyneside and sometimes wonder that our near neighbours in Sunderland, Gateshead, or North Tyneside just wouldn’t allow such procrastination. But I suppose when you’ve waited thirty years already……
And we want to save retailing in this area?

You obviously didn’t follow the saga over the Vaux brewery site then.
