Corner Shop closed
Time to go
Curly’s Corner Shop will be closed for the next week, and regardless of the winds and rain I’ll be in the North Yorkshire Moors and the Dales for a bit peace and quiet.
Yesterday my 79 year old father was eventually diagnosed as having swine flu, so he’s self quarantined after getting his supply of Tamivir, so he’ll probably be the only person I shall be contacting while I’m away. We spent yesterday doing last minute shopping and began to pack in the incessant rain, by last night I thought I had hypothermia, some final preparations to make, maps to check for our twin destinations and then we are off.
I’ll miss the Summer Festival activities taking place in South Shields this weekend so will be unable to photograph them and show the world what we do to attract visitors here, so if you are out and about at the Proms in the Park (which will be in The Customs House), the amphitheatre, or the Sunday concert in Bents Park I’d love to see your photographs, if you’d like to send them to me we could perhaps put a little show together and publish them here next weekend , you will find my email address on the contact page. Pictures of our councillors and politicians enjoying themselves would be most apt!
Pictures have been pre-loaded into South Shields Daily Photo and South Shields Daily Pictures so perhaps you can get a flavour of the South Shields summer there, I’d love to read some of your comments when I return.
Next blog post here will be on Monday27th. July.

Have a good trip, mate.
