The Great Global Warming Swindle
It’s part of the debate.
This is the programme recently shown on Channel 4, it’s over an hour long and counters many of the arguments regarding the causes of global warming. The making of the programme has clearly alarmed some of the leading politicians who have hung their hat on the CO2 peg, so much so that David Miliband has “fisked” it on his ministerial blog, see the comments section for a taste of the heated debate that this programme is engendering. I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed so much interest and controversy on the Environment Secretary’s blog, unfortunately his officials didn’t seem fit or able to show the video on his site (or didn’t want to) that’s why I’m showing it here.
I haven’t watched this myself yet, so I’m going to settle down and see it this afternoon whilst Brenda looks after the shop.
Perhaps Rossinisbird should check it out!

Having had a chance to watch it, and check over David Miliband’s comments on his blog about it, I can understand fully why the exponents of the current rash of “green policies” (Conservatives included) have been thrown on to the back foot. Also why those who ask for a little breathing space are attacked for being “in denial”, this film certainly adds much to the debate and those of us looking to look after our sanity request more and more from the scientists.
We need more than just consensus, we need a definitive position, and it does not help if the IPCC deliberately excludes the views of those scientists who profess to believing in a different set of data and measurements. Perhaps it’s time for our politicians to just sit back and take stock of the position instead of looking for a populist approach which appears to offer much for tax revenues but little real impact for the earth’s environment!
