Testing times

WordPress offline

It’s been a testing day not knowing whether or not you can access the WordPress network to update the blog, there was pre-warning of a two hour outage but it seems that their planned maintenance went on longer than they anticipated. This is only the second time I’ve suffered these problems compared to more than a dozen during my last 12 months on Blogger. Now to compound matters I think I have mouse trouble, perhaps a small fracture in one of the leads causing the cursor to jump all over the monitor, perhaps I should invest in a wireless mouse.

The day was not improved by Sunderland’s defeat at the hands of Liverpool but I have to acknowledge there is a huge gulf in quality between the two sides. With Manchester United to be face at Old Trafford next Keane’s men will need to show massive amounts of resilience and character to continue their efforts to retain any sort of mid-table position.

The Corner Shop family are out partying this evening in Hebburn to celebrate the 70th. birthday of my youngest uncle, and honestly he’s the sort of young fit bloke who at times doesn’t even look like a pensioner, never mind a septuagenarian

Tomorrow we will attempt a couple of practice erections of our new tent on The Leas, South Shields, prior to preparing for a week of camping near Buxton in Derbyshire, “Junior” and “Missy” are going to have to get used to a longer journey! So the “Shop Closed” sign will be going up on Monday and we will reopen on Saturday.

Enjoy your BankHoliday weekend and take advantage of the good weather.

  1. Have you ever thought about hosting your site away from WordPress server and still using the WordPress weblogging system with an external host?

I made the switch a year ago and haven’t looked back.

  2. Perhaps I’ll do that sometime in the near future Kyle (after I find advertisers to help pay the hosting costs.)
