Kinnocks in cash tidal wave

with 5 comments

Neil and Glenys Kinnock

“It was frightening” – Journalist

The couple were only out enjoying the summer weather on the beach at Calais which had been strangely deserted after their arrival in Europe, strolling nonchalantly along the gravel they were surprised and shocked when the tidal wave of cash crashed around their ankles almost sweeping them away.

Journalist photographer Sam Snapper was there:

“It was frightening” he said

Although a little shaken by the incident, the former Labour leader was reported to have told the small assembled coterie of journalists

“We’re not bad, it wasn’t that much of a shock really. We should be OK when we are settled back in London”

A visiting English tourist chipped in:

“I’d never seen or heard of such huge amounts of cash floating about, and it looked to me as though the Kinnock’s weren’t that bothered and took it all in their stride”

There were unconfirmed reports in some newspapers that the couple had been seen stuffing their pockets and filling carrier bags before heading to the ferries for the return journey.

What a pity he failed to get on the euro gravy train – not!!

I wonder if he is gearing up for a pop at Miliband in the General election – what a choice for the Council leader – just where would he put his cross!! ha ha!!

  3. How many of us if elected to EU would be sitting at home saying well i did not take expenses I’m a hero, the fact is the EU have learned from labour, they have given MEP’s a rise of 45% and cut the amount of expenses they can claim, but I bet you a Pound it will not take long before they have a massive rise in benefits, sorry expenses.

I watched the Brussels band wagon of MEP sitting in seats listening or pretending to listen to what is going on thinking I could be out now on the beach.

We have computers now and video links conferencing why not allow MEP’s to work from home, and charge long distance talking allowance.

    Who cares anymore.

  4. Wow! She was a teacher, she contributed to the Teacher Pension Scheme…and now she’s entitled to a pension! And they did some other jobs that get them pensions too?
Puts all those bankers’ bonuses in perspective, doesn’t it?

  5. A professional teacher, privileged to be a politician’s wife, propelled towards Brussels to join her husband, uniquely qualified to be out Minister for Europe.
