The value of a webcam in the council chamber

I’ve long held the view (oddly, with the South Tyneside Independent Alliance people) that  a webcam should be installed in the council chamber of South Shields Town Hall, even if it is small, fixed, and relatively unmanned. I think it would be a great boon to webcast meetings of South Tyneside Council on to the internetz.

Let’s face it meetings just couldn’t get any worse than those held in the City of Derby – could they? Check this video of their Lib-Dem council leader and decide.
