North swings to Tories

with one comment

Labour losing poll position in it’s heartlands.

More bad news for Gordon Brown in the form of this research by the Financial Times which shows that the Conservative Opposition led by David Cameron is on course to score big gains, including a possible win for Wendy Morton across the river in Tynemouth. Whilst Cameron is found to have not yet “sealed the deal” with “middle England” the FT suggests a swing of 11.5 percentage points from Labour to Conservative in heartland seats in the north, further suggesting that Labour’s votes will not be leaking to the BNP in the sort of numbers seen in the Euro elections.

Conservative Home reports that around thirty Tory gains may be achieved in the north west, a dozen more gains in Yorkshire and Humberside, and possibly three or four others in the north east, including Sunderland Central. I suggest that South Shields Labour Party had better send people to campaign north and south of us unless they want David Miliband to be sandwiched by Conservative neighbours!

  1. I’ve had five emails, lots of letters, and of course brochures , all saying are you coming back the party needs you. Come and have a chat to discuss your problems, I wrote back saying it’s not my problems they are yours. Then a letter saying, my MP started out in politics to help people, not to make money she was a socialist, then the expenses she spent came out and it went bang. she has claimed for five years the max expenses she could get away with, while the MP in the next area only claimed £5,000 for train fares.

Now she says it’s all about making life better for people, pay them some expenses I’m sure that will help.
