Social networking is the way to go!

It’s great these days how MPs, councillors, and even some South Tyneside politicians are using social networking sites such as Twitter or Facebook to help us stay in touch with their activities. It lends an air of openness and honesty to their campaigning activities don’t you think?

Just as important is the link from the longer version websites, to the shorter 140 character précis pieces, which is why the South Tyneside Independents say on their blog based website

“Follow South Tyneside Independents on Twitter”

Which is great, you get to see the full RSS feed of their Tweets, but if you want to delve any deeper than the cursory headlines you find that you need to be a sort of a member of an exclusive club to get the full story!

Years of berating other political parties in South Tyneside for a lack of candour does not seem to have altered their ability of behaving just like copy cat clones.

No chance of change then.

  3. Curly i have allot of respect for you for what you have done in the past.
But i dont understand why you are keep banging on about the indy Alliance all the time.
You need to keep an eye on what your labour party
friends are doing. Now thats something to talk about.

  4. @Robert

Robert, I have focused almost exclusively on the Indy Alliance, but if you have anything that you think your Fat Councillor should be looking at please just let me know.

I am always happy to get my magnifying glass out…

    • Some interesting ‘goings on ‘ in Biddick Hall. Indys Karen Nicholson and her sidekick Steve have been sending out leaflets claiming all kinds of credit for improvements in the area. The ‘residents association’ which they run without the benefit of meetings, accounts or even members is no longer recognised or funded. They have even got Karen’s sister Geraldine White delivering leaflets for them. Karen’s own political career when she was a labour Party member was derailed over a little matter of unpaid Council.
Tax. Surprised no one has picked up on young McBride’s rather chequered past. Worth looking in to.

      • I am licking my lips with anticipation. An Indy Alliance councillor failing to pay Council Tax? Whatever next? Assault on the Town Hall steps?

Looks like young Mr McBride might need to be looked at. Spies at the ready!

      • I’m sure I Spy referred to Labour Party membership rather than an elected representative, they can but be ambitious of course.

  5. I think Karen’s ambitions to be a Councillor were permanently derailed after the Council Tax fiasco a few years back. They would resurface if she were to ever stand again. So she just plays s role as ‘king maker’ to Steve and of course her nephew who is Geraldine White’s son. He trails around Biddick Hall attending Community Forum meetings even though he doesn’t live in the area. A bit like a lost dog in search of…….. a council seat. Can someone not take pity and start up a job creation scheme for the sons and daughters of Alliance councillors…oops they already have.

  7. Dear Mr I Spy if you think Karen and Steve are taking credid for things that or happening on biddick hall then you are dead right and so they should because any thing done in that area is down to them and if you just walk about with your wife and talk to residents they will confirm this. Also your childish comments about people walking about the estate who do not even live there bearing in mind not one of the elected members live there either but silly me they dont walk around like lost dogs they just dont walk at all.Just to finish we all have a past so if you want to bring Karens life to center stage get ready to act

  8. Well when the missus and I were having a bus ride round Biddick Hall we noticed the new walls and dropped kerbs in Sheridan Road and work starting on the new bungalows. Now unless Karen and Steve have been elected secretly to the council I’d venture to suggest they played no part in getting money allocated for these projects.
I also remember them opposing things like the closure of the underpass on the John Reid Road- a horrible place which residents were reluctant to use.
