Discredited candidate will not stand in Westoe

South Shields voters have been spared the choice of putting a cross next to Jane Branley’s son David McBride in the local council elections in May, instead she fields her brother Paul McVay as the Independent Alliance candidate. Cllr. Branley. you haven’t learned an awful lot from this episode.

More detail as it comes in, readers will be eager to know of Mr. McVay’s characteristics and the reaction of Alliance supporters.

  2. In today’s Gazette he cites ‘work committments’ More like buried under a load of manure. You’ve got to laugh! How do they keep a straight face.

    • Probably the reason why, so far, I haven’t been able to use this keyboard much today, I involuntarily spat my lunch all over it when I read the piece in The Gazette! What surprises me more is the knowledge that Gazette reporters hold on the issue having visited this blog and Ahmed’s Wise Words over the past couple of weeks, surely they could have pressed for more cogent reasons than this? Surely the people of South Shields and Westoe deserve to know the wider picture? The Independents say in this article that McBride is :

“currently taking a part time course to become a trainer in construction skills”

One might have thought that a part time learning course would have afforded him ample opportunities to commit himself to the campaign, probably more than his step father to be honest!

Their lack of candour about the unrelenting drip, drip, drip feed of information about Mr. McBride’s character has been quite breathtaking (and eye opening).

  4. Do you think that part of his construction course should be a lesson that goes ‘when you are in a hole stop digging.’ His mam does not seem to have learned that one.
