Hain the detective

Having found not quite all of the missing declarations, “Tangoed Man” Peter Hain may now feel qualified to make his way to South Tyneside to help in the hunt for the missing eighteen ballot boxes thousand pounds that will keep the Electoral Commission and Gordon Brown off his back!
The “donorgate” scandal will shortly be a thing of the past as diligent detective work and self audits by the over-tanned Works and Pensions Secretary finds ways of foxing those hunting the bad guys.
Last night the Electoral Commission confirmed that it was looking into the circumstances around the late reporting of the accounts but did not want to comment in detail on the case.
It is not known at what point the work and pensions secretary became aware of the failure to disclose all the donations to his campaign.
Last night, his staff would not be drawn on the issue. A spokesman refused to say why the money had not been declared in time.
What’s the story with that tan, do you reckon? Sun bed? Out of a bottle? Or does he zeeb off to a second home somewhere sunny every weekend? Whichever it is, he doesn’t come out of it too well. I remember when he was a left winger.
